Ref 6 APR 05
Government House,
Hongkong, 6th. March, 1905.
Sir,
With reference to Mr. May's Despatch No.
142 of the 31st. of March, 1904, I have the honour to inform
you that the hearing and determination by the Land Court of
all claims to land in the New Territories including New Kow-
loon was completed on the 31st, of December last. A report,
which will be forwarded to you in due course, is being prepared
on the work done by the Court since its formation,
2.
There remain unsettled the Appeal to the
Supreme Court in the large claim to foreshore at Cheung Sha
Wan upon which the Judgment of the Court may be expected short-
ly, and another somewhat similar foreshore case in which the
issue of a title in accordance with the Judgment of the Land
Court, has been held over pending the result of the Appeal in the Cheung Sha Wan case.
3.
I have not as yet formally dissolved the
Court nor is it proposed for the present to repeal Ordinance
No. 4 of 1900 under which it has been acting, because questions'
still arise which it is useful to be able to settle by refe-
-rence
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
ALFRED LYTTELTON, K.C., M.P.,
